| Description | Move bedroom furniture from parking lot (trailer) to apartment. Items to be moved: headboard, side rails (2), footboard drawer unit, dresser, side table, mattress, connected slat rack assembly, drawers (8). Drawers are removed from dresser and side table. Unit is not particularly heavy, but the apartment is up two flights of stairs (no elevator). I was able to carry all this from home interior to trailer, slowly and with no issues while being assisted by my 19yo daughter, but I have some knee issues that may inhibit me from traversing the stairs with this furniture. I am not convinced that moving straps would be beneficial here because they could likely only be used on the dresser and my experience was that picking it up by grasping the bottom rail was a more stable way to move it. I have a hand truck which could be used on the side table but again, it's likely easier for two people to just pick it up and carry it. |
