Hi! I'm Nelly. In the past ten years, I've worked 70+-hour weeks between five jobs on top of school; backpacked around Ireland; taught myself the ukulele; learned martial arts, gourmet cooking and several types of dance; squatted almost one-and-a-half times my bodyweight; sung a lot of songs; told a lot of stories; dreamed a lot of dreams. In the next ten years I'm going to be the best darn editor ever, climb a mountain barefoot, visit all the countries, squat more than one-and-a-half times my bodyweight, learn to make ridiculously delicious chocolates, sing more songs, and find more stories. Right now I'm focused on getting the financial foundation to go after all that, hopefully meeting some cool people while I'm at it.
I was raised to be a thorough and efficient housewife, and regardless of the success of the original aim, I rock at cleaning house.
I've had tons of experience as a waitress, working for big restaurants, small restaurants, a dining hall, and a catering company.
I can tell a perennial from a weed as well as from a slightly different perennial (in fact, I'm a bit of a nerd about plant names), don't mind being up to my elbows in soil, and know the difference between a spade and a trowel. Projects I've done in my parents' garden include a stone retaining wall for a flowerbed, another large flowerbed dug with a mattock in heavy clay/gravel soil, daffodil and crocus bulbs planted everywhere around their yard, and cutting the grass with a push mower on a steep slope. No seriously, I liked that part.
Oh man. You will probably never meet someone who's made as many lists as I have. I love separating clutter and disarray into categories and figuring out the most effective way of arranging it. This goes for cluttered items and lives in temporary disarray.
Not a ton of experience painting, but the rooms I've done in my parents' and friends' houses turned out pretty well.
Babysitting (I used to be a nanny), petsitting (my first word was my dog's name, true fact), serenading (with or without the ukulele), cooking awesome healthy food for busy people (in my kitchen or theirs), small sewing jobs, editing (proofreading, copy/line editing, content/cohesion of the whole), random errands, interior layout design, and recommending books.
She was a great help. I have hired her again.

Nelly was great showed up early and worked hard until she had to leave
Nelly did a great job. The floors look wonderful!
Very friendly and efficient. Did a good job cleaning my home. Now that she is familiar with my place, I believe she could do the job in two hours.
